Hicks Elementary Families,

The PTA wants to welcome your family to our great school and help you start the year off right.
This year we are focusing on going green in our administration for PTA. All PTA forms and information will be available to you on this website.
1. Join PTA
• As a PTA member you will receive e-mails and newsletters monthly about what is happening at our school
• With your PTA membership, you will be included in the school directory that will help you get to know the families in your child’s classroom, schedule play dates and car pools or find out which children live in your neighborhood, etc. Both parents need to join to have both parents’ names listed with your child.
• As a PTA member you will get to be involved at the school during the day as well as attend a few meetings to help us make good choices for our school.
2. Order Spirit Wear
• spirit wear is worn every Friday
• We have short sleeve, long sleeve, water bottles, koozies, wrist bands and more
3. Donate to the classroom parties for your children
• There are 3 classroom parties a year at Hicks. Your donation will cover the cost of everything at each event so that you will NOT be asked for anything during the year.
• Parties consist of food, crafts, entertainment, games, and some keepsakes
4. Sign up to volunteer at Hicks
• Our school has several volunteer opportunities for parents during the day.
• We need parents to help us in the cafeteria, library, office, work room, literary library, kinder motor lab, as reading and math tutors, etc. Schedules are set up so you can easily know when to come and help out.
• We also need parents to help out with school events such as the fall family night, dad’s club, spring spectacular and teacher appreciation week.
• You can sign up for 1 or many committees to volunteer at Hicks.

Directions for ordering your back to school items and/or Volunteering
1) Print out the all the forms you need, fill out required information on all forms.
2) Write one check for the total amount of all the above forms and make it out to T.H.E.S PTA.
Put the check and order forms in an envelope marked ‘Back to School Order Program’ and return to the lock box in the Hicks office (you can also send the envelope to school with your child. Your child’s teacher will send them to the office to place in the PTA lock box).
3) Look at the volunteer needs at our school under the Volunteer at Hicks tab on the website and email the volunteer chairperson to get more information and/or sign-up to help! (their e-mails are included on the website with each description)
