The proposed calendar by the District Calendar Committee reflects the parameters required by the school board and state guidelines.
- State mandated start of August 23rd
- 180 days of instruction
- Seven teacher in-service/ work days (one day after each semester)
- Two bad weather days
- Holidays: Labor Day-Thanksgiving Week-Winter Break-MLK Day-Spring Break-Good Friday-Memorial Day.
- The Monday after Easter cannot be taken as a bad weather day due to TAKS testing.
Fair Day and Presidents Day were added by the calendar committee to balance out the end of the school year and final exams. Graduations could be held on June 11 & 12. The proposed calendar will be voted on at the January board meeting.
