Paperwork Submission Session (required)

Mandatory Substitute Training (required)

All Substitute Teacher Candidates must finalize the application process by attending a mandatory Substitute Training session.

You are required to download and bring a copy of the LISD Substitute Handbook in order to be Admitted to the training session.

Substitute Training will consist of a Morning and Afternoon Session:

• LISD Policies and Procedures
• Legal Issues
• Special Education Issues

Afternoon Session:

• Classroom Management
• Instructional Strategies

Certified Substitutes with current classroom experience and LISD Student Teachers will be dismissed following the morning session.

All other candidates, to include Certified Substitutes out of the classroom as a full-time teacher for more than 5 years and Substitutes with only student teaching experience will attend the morning and afternoon sessions and will be dismissed at 4:30 p.m.
