  • How do I become certified to teach in the Lewisville Schools? Contact State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) @ www.sbec.state.tx.us and click on "How to Become a Teacher in Texas " .
  • I have a degree but how do I get a teaching certificate? Contact SBEC @ www.sbec.state.tx.us
  • I am certified in another state or country, how do I get a Texas Certificate? Contact SBEC @ www.sbec.state.tx.us or view the informational presentation on the LISD HRS Website.
  • What is Alternative Certification? Another route to certification that allows a degreed individual to obtain certification. For more specific details, contact SBEC @ www.sbec.state.tx.us . LISD does not recommend any specific program. Interested individuals should contact the alternative programs directly to determine the program which complements the individual's needs.
  • Can you send me a copy of my certificate? You may obtain a copy by contacting SBEC and click on "Official Record of Educator"
  • What is my certificate number? The same as your social security number
  • What is an emergency permit? A temporary document based on a deficiency plan that allows you to teach while completing the required hours or tests. The Lewisville ISD no longer hires individuals with emergency permits.
