| Parents invited to join SDFSC Task Force |

Members of the LISD community are invited to
join the Safe and Drug Free Schools and
Communities (SDFSC) Task Force.
Members are asked to serve at least one year
on the task force. Duties include meeting
once a quarter for SDFSC training meetings
and meeting approximately once a month with
their committee. A member's committee will be
determined once their application has been
processed.

| Independence Elementary PTA now forming |

An informational meeting has been scheduled
for April 21 at 7 p.m. at Castle
Hills Elementary to begin the process of
forming the new Independence Elementary,
which will open its doors this fall.
The Independence Elementary PTA will
officially organize on May 20 at 7 p.m. at
Castle Hills Elementary. During that meeting,
bylaws will be approved, members' dues
collected and officers elected.

Greater Lewisville Special Ed PTA holds
April activity
The Greater Lewisville Special Education PTA
will hold their first Special Needs and
Resources Fair on April 26 from 10 a.m. to
noon at Killough
Lewisville High
School - North.
The fair will have something for all ages and
abilities. Representatives from various
activities, sports, therapists, summer
campus, lawyers, financial planners and
professionals who serve the special needs
community are scheduled to attend. Admission
is free and open to the public.

FMHS hosts blood drive
Flower
Mound High School will host a blood drive
on April 23 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Jack
and Donna Clark Auditorium. Walk-ins are welcome.

| LHS, LHS-North fundraising efforts exceed goal |

|
Lewisville
High School and Killough
LHS - North students and
faculty raised a combined $11,900 for the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This beat last year's fundraising total of
$6,400 for the organization as well as this
year's goal of $9,000. The top raising
class was LHS teacher Mark Grubb's German
classes, who raised more than $900.
