    Interested in learning how to protect your child in a virtual world? Then come hear Sgt. James Willingham give cyber safety tips to parents tomorrow, March 11, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Bolin Administrative Center, 1565 W. Main St. in Lewisville.

    Willingham brings a wealth of experience as a forensic computer analyst/felony criminal investigator specializing in trapping online child predators.

    LISD has organized a week full of campus and parent activities to help students learn safe Internet skills and tips. To learn more, click here.

    Random Drug Testing informational night for parents

    The LISD Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Office will be hosting informational meetings concerning the upcoming random drug testing program this week for parents of students who attend Lewisville North, Marcus and The Colony High Schools.

    The Killough LHS - North parent meeting is tonight, March 10, at 7 p.m. in the school's cafeteria. The meeting at TCHS will also take place tonight, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium. Marcus' meeting will be on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.

    All parents are welcome to attend any of the meetings, even if your child attends another high school. For additional questions the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Office at 972-350-3672.

    Dale Jackson Career Center hosts Blood Drive

    The Dale Jackson Career Center Health Science Technology classes will host a blood drive on March 12 from 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the cosmetology classroom. Donors will receive a free T-shirt and be entered to win a $100 gas card.

    TCHS Cheerleaders to host Parents Night Out

    The Colony High School Cheerleaders will host the third annual Parents Night Out on March 29 from 6 - 10 p.m. in the school's gymnasium.

    Pizza and refreshments will be served and children can participate in activities such as tumbling, arts and crafts, face painting and other games. To participate, parents can drop off their potty-trained child for $25. Each additional child is $15. A participation form will need to be signed when a child is dropped-off.     LISD Community Education Advisory Council hosts Community Garage Sale

    The LISD Community Education Advisory Council will host a Community Garage Sale on May 3 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Lewisville High School north parking lot. All PTAs, booster clubs, youth groups and businesses are invited to rent a booth, sell your stuff and keep your cash.

    Non-profit organizations such as PTAs, booster clubs and youth groups can rent a booth for $25. Individuals and businesses can rent a booth for $35. The rental fee includes space only, tables not included.

    TCHS Topcats announce upcoming events

    The Colony High School Topcats will host a mandatory parent/student meeting concerning the tryout process for the 2008-09 school year today, March 10 at 7 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.

    The group will also host a Topcat Junior/Pee Wee Clinic on April 12 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the school's middle gymnasium. For more questions concerning the meeting or the clinic, contact Topcats Drill Team Director Miriam Vera at veram@lisd.net or by phone at 469-948-2584.

    *Correction* - TCHS wrestler makes All State competition

    It was incorrectly reported that All State wrestler Nick Capodagli is a student at Lewisville High School. Nick attends The Colony High School. The Communications Department apologizes for this error.

    LISD ranks fourth on TMEA list
    According to the Texas Music Educators Association, LISD ranks fourth in the state for number of All State students.

    Only Plano, Cypress - Fairbanks and Fort Bend ISDs had more All State students. LISD had 45 students in band, choir or orchestra perform their way to the All State level of competition this year.

    Congratulations to all students and directors on their great performances.
