LISD Special Education Dept. holds early
education screenings
The Special Education Department will hold
early education screenings on Feb. 28 - 29
from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. to identify children
residing in the district who may have a
disability. Screening times will be assigned
by apppointment.
A child who needs to be screened is one who
does not appear to act, see, hear, speak,
understand or learn as others of his/her age.
The tests include vision and hearing
screening, as well as motor, language and
learning tasks.

LISD Special Education PTSA announces
March events
The LISD Special Education PTSA (SEPTSA) will
hold the following activities in March:
March 13: An overview of the services
provided by the Department of Aging and
Disability Services will be presented from 7
- 9 p.m. at the LISD Student Services
Building, 400 W. Main St. in Lewisville. The
group's regular meeting will precede the
discussion at 6 p.m.
Plant sale: SEPTSA is selling spring
annuals for $20 a flat, $5 of the sale
benefiting the organization. The deadline to
order is March 14 and plants can be picked up
March 29 - 30 at Huggins Nursery in Flower Mound.

LHS to hold annual Farmer Auction
Lewisville
High School will hold its annual Farmer
Auction on Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. in the school's
cafeteria.
Admission is $5 and includes an envelope of
15 tickets. Landmark Grill will serve
hamburgers and chicken
sandwiches for $4 each at the school. Other
concession
items will be available. This event is open
to the entire LISD community.
Lewisville Literacy Council to hold annual
banquet, invites community
The Lewisville Literacy Council will have
their annual banquet at the Golden Corral in
Lewisville on April 15 at 5 p.m. One does not
need to be a member to attend.
Hebron Band announces events
Percussion Ensembles perform
The Hebron
High School
Percussion Ensembles will present its annual
percussion concert on March 8 at 3 p.m. in
the school's auditorium. Steve Smith, the
drummer from the rock band Journey will be
the featured guest artist.
The Percussion Ensembles are comprised of
students from Hebron High School as well as
Arbor Creek, Creek Valley and Killian Middle
Schools.
Smith will also give a free drum clinic from
noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Hebron auditorium,
which is open to the community to attend.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
HHS Band Night and Colorguard Night
Hebron High School Band Night at Lenny's
Subshop in Carrollton has moved to Thursday
from 2:30 - 9 p.m. During that time the
restaurant will donate 15 percent of its
purchases to the band.
The HHS Colorguard has teamed up with
Chik-Fil-A to host Hebron Guard Day on the
first Tuesday of every month. On that day,
customers who mention the Hebron Colorguard
will have a portion of the their purchase go
to support the colorguard.
