AVID program looking for tutors
Tutoring positions are available in LISD's
AVID program, a fourth- through twelfth-grade
system that prepares students for college
eligibility.
Tutors must be college students and will work
with small groups of middle and high school
students, under the supervision of a teacher.
Tutors are required to attend training
workshops and will receive compensation for the
training. All tutors must pass a criminal

Valentine's Day Parents Night Out
The Flower
Mound High School Rosettes and booster
club will hold a Parent's Night Out on
Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, from 5:30 - 8:30
p.m. in the school's large and small
gymnasiums. Children will participate in an
evening of games, crafts, refreshments and
movies.
The cost is $15 per child and children must
be ages kindergarten through fifth-grade.

Marcus Orchestra and booster club host
pancake breakfast
The Marcus
High School Orchestra and booster club
will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake
breakfast on Feb. 9 from 8 - 10 a.m. at the
Applebee's on F.M. 407 in Highland Village.
Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the

Marcus holds recycling event
Marcus
High School will hold its next curbside
recycling day on Feb. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The following items will be accepted (items
do not need to be in working order): VCRs,
DVD and CD players, stereos, speakers and
components, projectors, satellite or cable
boxes, VHS or DVD movies, audio books, sports
equipment, vacuum cleaners and more. For a
