Dates changed for annual MLK contest
The Denton Area Alliance of Black School
Educators will host its annual Martin Luther
King, Jr. Essay Contest on Jan. 26 from 9
a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Fred Moore High School,
815 Crosstimbers in Denton. Information
previously released said the contest would be
held on Jan. 12.
All Denton County middle and high school
students who attend both the morning and
afternoon sessions will be eligible to submit
essays. Registration is due Jan. 11 at 3 p.m.

LISD students to participate in annual MLK
day celebration
Numerous LISD students and organizations will
be participating in the annual Dr. King
commemoration celebration at 7 p.m. on Jan.
19 at the Trietsch Memorial United Methodist
Church in Flower Mound.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jerry Roy will
be speaking at the event along with other
community officials and the winners of the
Dr. King Art and Essay Contests will be
announced.
