The LISD Board of Trustees will meet tonight, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the board room of the Bolin Administrative Center, located at 1565 W. Main St. in Lewisville.

    LISD will kick off its first district-wide community service project benefitting PediPlace today, a local non-profit healthcare center that provides medical assistance to families who can't afford doctor visits or office treatments.

    Each campus will hold a unique activity to raise awareness about PediPlace this week.

    FMHS Softball Booster Club hosts golf tournament

    The Flower Mound High School Softball Booster Club is hosting a golf tournament at the Tour 18 Golf Club on Nov. 18 to benefit the softball team.

    The registration fee is $110 per golfer and includes green fees, cart, use of practice range, post tournament fajita dinner and free green fee coupon for a future round of golf at Tour 18.     Marcus Choir to present The Poets Sing

    The Marcus High School Choir will present The Poets Sing on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in the school's Sigler Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

    LHS Band holding annual pie sale

    The Lewisville High School Band is now selling pies until Oct. 29. The pies will be delivered in time for Thanksgiving. To order a pie or for more information, contact band booster club member Melanie Dunn at melanied@pony-x-press.net.

    LISD bands excel in marching contests
    The Colony High School Band took first place among the Division II schools at the recent Tournament of Champions competition at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton.

    Meanwhile, the marching bands from Marcus and Hebron High Schools took first and second place, respectively, at the Birdville Marching Festival. Lewisville High School's Marching Band took sixth place at the same competition. Flower Mound High School did not participate in either contest.

    Congratulations to all LISD bands on their recent accomplishments.
