    Marcus Orchestra to hold annual plant sale

    The Marcus High School Orchestra Booster Club will hold its annual plant sale Oct. 13 - 14, 20 - 21 and 27 - 28 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the school. The group will also be taking orders for pecans during the plant sale.

    All proceeds will be used towards the orchestra's trip to Boston to participate in the Boston Heritage Festival next spring.

    TCHS Cheerleaders co-host Cheer Mania

    The Colony High School Cheerleaders are teaming up with the cheerleaders from The Colony Youth Football Association to host the 2007 Cheer Mania Competition from noon to 6 p.m. on Nov. 4.

    Youth squads that cheer for an athletic team through a park and recreation league or an LISD middle school are welcome to participate. All participants must be between 5 - 13 years of age.

    LHS Baseball Booster Club sponsors fall craft show

    The Lewisville High School Baseball Booster Club is seeking vendors for its annual fall craft show to be held on Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

    The craft show will take place in the cafeteria and commons area of the school. Booth spaces are available for $65 each. If interested, contact Vila Snider at 972-317-9646 or Beverly at 972-459-0321.

    Marcus High School Theatre to present Pride and Prejudice

    The Marcus High School Theatre Department will perform Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice Oct. 11 - 12 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.

    Tickets are $12 for adults ($10 in advance) and $8 for students and seniors ($5 in advance).

    LISD Drumlines take top 3 contest spots
    The drumlines from Marcus, Lewisville and Flower Mound High Schools placed first, second and third, respectively, at the Plano Drumline Competition held on Sept. 29.

    Numerous Texas high school drumlines competed at the annual contest. The Colony High School won the AA Standstill Competition and also won Best Front Ensemble in the division.

    Marcus additionally won the best snare, tenor, front ensemble and bass lines in their division while LHS won best cymbal line. Hebron High School did not attend the event.
