LISD holds annual student art exhibit
LISD will present its annual student art
exhibit from April 20 - 29 at The Art
Gallery, 701 S. Stemmons in Lewisville
(behind the Black-eyed Pea).
There will be an opening reception and awards
ceremony on April 20 from 7 - 9 p.m. in the
gallery.
LISD Council of PTAs hosts vendor fair
The LISD Council of PTAs will host a vendor
fair on April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Killough
Lewisville High School - North.
Anyone needing to raise funds for an
organization is encouraged to come and see
what more than 100 area vendors have to
offer. The PTA with the most attendees will
win $100. The fair is open to the community.

LISD to hold paraprofessional job fair
LISD will hold a paraprofessional job fair on
June 1 from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Timber
Creek Elementary School.
Applications must be received prior to May
23. Applicants should bring a current resume
indicating at least two years of experience
working in the field in which they seek
employment.

Students invited to Academy Day
Five members of Congress will hold a joint
Academy Day on April 21 for students
interested in attending one of the five U.S.
Military Service Academies at the Tarrant
County College Northeast Campus in the Fine
Arts Theatre, Room NFAB1205, 828 Harwood Rd.
in Hurst.
Representatives from each of the military
service academies will make a presentation.
These institutions include the U.S. Military
Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air
Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine
Academy and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Parents of Dyslexic Students to meet
The organization Parents of Dyslexic Students
will meet on April 25 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the
LISD Student Services Building, 400 W. Main
in Lewisville.
Parents of Dyslexic Students is an informal
network of parents coming together to share
strategies, solutions and hands-on learning
tools to benefit the children's total

spring carnival on April 28 from 1 - 4 p.m.

Contestants in the Denton Area Alliance of
Black School Educators' 8th annual MLK Essay
Contest will be recognized at the North Texas
Book Festival on April 21 during the 12:15
p.m. Breakout Session at the Center for the

parent involvement roundtable meeting for PTA
members on April 28 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Killough
Lewisville High School - North.
Marcus Theatre presents Radium
Girls
The Marcus
High School Theatre Department will
present Radium Girls May 3 - 5 at 7:30
p.m. and on May 6 at 2:30 p.m.
Performances will take place at the Larry
Sigler Auditorium inside the high school.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for senior
citizens and students. One can buy tickets
