CISNT helping student's family
A fund has been established through
Communities In Schools of North Texas
(CISNT), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization,
to benefit the Cirksena family.
Seventeen-month-old Tatyanna Cirksena died
suddenly on March 13. Tatyanna's sister is a
first-grade student at Indian Creek
Elementary School. The family is in great
financial need.

DeLay Middle School and CISNT to host
health fair
DeLay
Middle School and Communities In Schools
of North Texas are hosting a Healthy
Lifestyles Health Fair on April 3.
This free event will be held at the school,
located at 136 Purnell in Lewisville, from 6
- 9 p.m. It is open to the community with the
goal of providing free screenings and
information on healthy lifestyles. It will
have a carnival atmosphere with face
painting, free balloons from the Lewisville
Fire Clowns and lots of freebies.
The health fair will provide free
immunizations for children from six months to
18 years of age, spinal screenings, blood
pressure and glucose screenings as well as
body fat screenings. Families can apply for
low cost insurance for uninsured children and
women through Children's Health Insurance
Program (CHIP) and Medicaid. Women may
sign-up for low-cost mammograms. People 17
years and older can donate blood and have a
chance to win a $100 or $1,000 makeover.
An application drive for CHIP and Medicaid,
in addition to two new programs, CHIP
Perinatal and the Texas Women's Health
Program, is included in the health fair. The
CHIP program provides low cost health and
dental insurance for uninsured children of
families with incomes from $19,600 - $67,200,
and family members ages 1 - 8, respectively.

meeting April 23
The LISD Board of Trustees will hold their
regular monthly meeting on April 23 at the
Bolin Administrative Center, 1565 W. Main St.
in Lewisville.
Marcus orchestra to hold annual plant sale
The Marcus High School
orchestra will host its annual plant sale on
the weekends of April 14 - 15, 21-22 and 28-29.

Greater Lewisville Early Childhood PTA to
hold spring auction and brunch
The Greater Lewisville Early Childhood PTA
will hold its annual spring auction and
brunch April 16 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the
Flower Mound United Methodist Church, located
at 3950 Bruton Orand Blvd.
Tickets are now on sale for $8 per person.
Some of the auction's donors include Sea
World of San Antonio, the Texas Rangers,
Interskate, Village Grill, Fish City Grill,
Scrapbook Warehouse and the Dr. Phil show.

second annual garage sale on April 21 from 7

Special Olympics to hold fundraising golf

The Flower Mound Mustangs Special Olympic
team is holding a golf tournament in an
effort to raise funds for the organization on
April 23 at the Tour 18 Golf Club, located at

FMHS Cross Country and Track Booster Club
sponsoring 1-mile run for elementary students
The Flower
Mound High School Cross Country and Track
Booster Club is sponsoring an End of
School 1-mile run for LISD students in
grades 1-5 on May 5.
Each registered participant will be eligible
to compete for trophies for first through
third place in their divisions and all
remaining runners will receive a medal upon
the completion of the one mile run. In
addition, the school with the most
participants will be awarded the "Traveling
Trophy" for the year, which is currently held
by Liberty Elementary.
