LISD Super Teacher Job Fair coming
LISD's annual Super Teacher Job Fair will
take place April 14 from 8:30 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m. at Flower
Mound High
School, 3411 Peters Colony Blvd. in
Flower Mound.
Representatives from 63 elementary, middle
and high school campuses from across the
district will be available to meet
candidates. The registration deadline is April 4.
No registration fee is required. However, a
completed application on file in the LISD
Human Resources Services Department is
required. A completed application on file
includes a valid teaching certificate, or
proof of certification/testing for
certification, copies of transcripts from all
colleges and universities attended, resume
and completed addendum.
A certified candidate is an individual who
currently holds a standard, provisional or
professional Texas Certification or who is
currently certified in another state. Current
alternative certification candidates or
non-certified applicants are not candidates.

CISNT to hold annual fundraising dinner
Communities in Schools of North Texas will
hold its fifth annual Celebrating
Success fundraising dinner on March 30 at
the University of North Texas Gateway Center
in Denton.
Tickets are $50 each and include dinner,
award ceremony, live music and a silent
auction. Proceeds from the dinner will go
towards CISNT, a dropout prevention program
in Denton and Wise Counties, as well as the
University of North Texas American Humanic
student organization.

LISD's third annual Number Sense Tournament will
be held on March 12 at 4:30 p.m. at the Bolin

Killian MS PTA starting to organize
A meeting has been scheduled at 7 p.m. on
March 29 at Creek
Valley Middle
School to begin the process of organizing
a PTA for Killian
Middle School, which will
open at the beginning of the 2007-08 school year.
Parents who will have children attending the
school are invited to come hear the
procedures for starting a new PTA. The bylaws
and nominating committees will be formed at
this meeting.
The PTA will be officially organized at the
following meeting at 7 p.m. on April 25 at
Creek Valley. During this meeting, bylaws
will be approved, membership dues collected
and officers will be elected.

LISD Adult and Community Education
announces summer care program
LISD's Adult and Community Education
department announced the return of
Summer's Cool, a summer care program
designed especially for LISD students. The
program will give students a fun-filled
option for June - August that includes
stimulating activities and quality
supervision while parents are at work.
There will be three campus locations - Vickery,
Polser
and Highland
Village
Elementaries. Only 60 children per campus
per week may attend Summer's Cool.

Marcus Black History Club to present
Junior Apollo Night 2007
The Marcus
High School Black History Club will host
Junior Apollo Night 2007 March 31 at 7
p.m.
All LISD high school students are invited to
tryouts, which will be held March 13 - 15
from 6 - 9 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.
One parent or guardian must accompany any
participant 14 years or younger.
Contestants will be scored in four categories
- talent, stage presence, creativity and
audience appeal. The contest's first place
winner will receive $100, second place will
receive $75 and the third place winner will
receive $50.

LHS Choir presents concert
The Lewisville
High School Choir will host The Vocal
Majority on March 31 at 7 p.m. in the
Stuver Auditorium.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for
students. The concert is in conjunction with
the choir's spring fundraiser titled
Celebration of Music, which is on
March 31 from noon to 6:30 p.m. in the
school's parking lot.

LHS Band Boosters to meet
The Lewisville
High School Band Booster Club will have
its next meeting on March 27 at 7 p.m. in the
band hall. This information is different than
the March 13 date printed in the LHS Band
Spring Calendar.
Liberty Elementary hosts event
Liberty
Elementary will host a presentation for dads
titled Instilling Value on Financial
Limits for Young Children tonight, March
12, at
6:30 p.m. in the school's cafeteria.
Rev. Daniel Gowen, a licensed counselor, will
be the guest speaker. Hot wings will be
served at the event. Everyone is welcome to
attend.
Prairie Trail holds book fair, spaghetti
dinner, silent auction
Prairie
Trail Elementary will host a spaghetti
dinner and silent auction on March 15 from 6
- 8:30 p.m. at the school.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children
5 and under. To purchase tickets or volunteer
