FMHS to hold annual Jaguar Auction
Flower
Mound High School is
inviting the community to attend its annual
Jaguar Auction on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and include a packet of 12 raffle
tickets. Attendees can place any number of
tickets in the collection bags that are designated
for their favorite prizes. Additional 12-ticket
envelopes will be available for $3 each.
At 7 p.m. the prizes will be awarded to the
lucky ticket holders.

The Colony Early Childhood PTA to meet
The Colony Early Childhood PTA will hold its
monthly meeting on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the
First United Methodist Church in The Colony,
4901 Paige Road.
This month, a representative from the Red Cross
will discuss emergency preparedness. Another Red
Cross representative will present Scrubby
Bear for the children's program.
TCECPTA is for all individuals interested in the
education and development of preschool-aged
children. The group addresses common concerns
and participates in activities that benefit the
lives of young children and their families.
Reservations for childcare are required and can
be done by contacting Melanie at nursery@tcecpta.org.
There is a $5 fee for one child and $8 for two
or more. All families with children ages 5 and
under are invited to attend. For more

Flower Mound Police enforcing curfews
The Flower Mound Police Department has initiated
a Curfew Ordinance Enforcement Program due to a
high number of juvenile-related crimes during
the holiday season and a continued increase in
the number of juvenile offenses.
Curfew hours for those ages 16 and below are
effective from 11 p.m. - 6 a.m. Sunday -
Thursday and 12:01 a.m. - 6 a.m. on Friday and
Saturday.
Violators of the curfew may be transported to
the police department and cited, with their
parents being notified to pick them up.
Juveniles apprehended while committing more
serious violations may be transported to the
Denton County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Police are seeking community support with this
initiative. Residents who see juveniles out
after curfew hours are encouraged to contact the
police department at 972-539-0525. For
emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
Liberty Elementary to host annual gala
Liberty
Elementary will host its
fourth annual Gold Dust Gala Shine for
All art auction, dinner and dance on Feb. 17
from 6 p.m. to midnight.
The event will be at Celebrations in Highland
Village. Tickets are $38 per person and $430 for
a table.
The art up for auction are pieces created by
Liberty Elementary students. Proceeds from the
event are used to purchase necessary items for
students.

FMHS Choirs to perform
The Flower
Mound High School
Choirs will present their annual Madrigal show
titled "A Thyme for Love" on
Feb. 9 - 10.
Tickets are $18 for the 6 p.m. performance on
Feb. 9 -10 and include dinner. Tickets for the
12:30 p.m. show on Feb. 10 are $8 and include
dessert. All shows are in the school's
cafeteria. Ticket sales will continue through
Feb. 7.

Hebron Band to perform
The Hebron
High School Band will
perform its annual mid-winter concert at 7 p.m.
on Feb. 12 in the school's auditorium.
All three concert bands will be playing and the
community is welcome to attend this free event.

Monopoly tournament scheduled for Feb. 24
LISD's Adult and
Community Education Department will
host a Monopoly tournament on Feb. 24, which
will be sponsored by Hasbro games and area
businesses. Proceeds will benefit adult literacy
programs through the LISD Adult and Community
Education.
Individuals or groups are invited to play.
Prizes will be awarded to first place winners.
No tournament experience is necessary.
