Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum has
been postponed by a week due to inclement weather.
The new performance dates are Jan. 25 - 26 at 7
p.m. and on Jan. 27 at 5 p.m.
Ticket prices will remain the same - $10 for
adults and $8 for students. Tickets may be
purchased in advance or at the door. If one has
already purchased a ticket for a previously
announced date, please attend the performance on
the same day (Thursday, Friday or Saturday) of
the new performance week.
Hedrick Elementary's shrimp night postponed

Elementary has rescheduled its shrimp
night from Jan. 25 to March 15.

LISD to use inclement weather day
Due to LISD's decision to close schools on Jan.
17 because of inclement weather, it will be
necessary for students to make up the day on
Thursday, May 24.
This day was previously set aside on the 2006-07
LISD Calendar for such an occasion.
LISD Education Foundation scholarship
deadline soon
Just a reminder that all 2007 Lewisville ISD
Education Foundation scholarship applications
must be submitted by Jan. 29.

in the scholarship section. Last year, more than
$80,000 was awarded to 2006 graduates.

Early Education screenings scheduled
LISD Special Education Department will
conduct Early Education screenings on Jan.
25-26 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. to identify children
residing in the district who may have a
disability. Screening times will be assigned by
appointment.
A child who needs to be screened is one who does
not appear to act, see, hear, speak, understand
or learn as others of his/her age. The tests
include vision and hearing screening, as well as
motor, language and learning tests.
Children who have a disability are eligible to
receive instructional and related services from
age three or from birth if visually or hearing
impaired.
If you have a child who is suspected of having a
disability, and is at least 2 years, 9 months
old, call the Special Education office at
469-713-5203 for an appointment.
If the child is younger than the required age,
but you are concerned, one may call the Special
Education office or one of the following Early
Childhood Intervention programs:

It is acceptable to have a babysitter or
other family member bring your child to the
screening; however, a signed consent form must be
received prior to the screening time.
Forms are available at the Special Education
office located at 400 W. Main St. in Lewisville,
in the event you cannot accompany your child to
the screening.
Marcus to perform The Pajama Game
Marcus
High School's Theatre Arts
department will perform The Pajama Game
Jan. 25-28 and Feb. 1-4.
The curtain will rise at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday night performances. There
will also be shows at 2:30 p.m. for Saturday and
Sunday dates.
Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door for
students and seniors. Adult tickets are $10 in
advance and $12 at the door. Advance tickets can
be purchased from any drama student and will
also be sold at Marcus during all lunch periods
this week, Jan. 22 - 26.
Castle Hills Elementary to host
multi-cultural celebration
Castle
Hills Elementary will host
A Passport to the World, a multi-cultural
celebration, for the community on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.
The event will start with African coffee and
international desserts. At 6:30 p.m., students
will display their heritage through native
dress. A musical and dance production will follow.

Forestwood accepting scholarship applications
Forestwood
Middle School is now accepting scholarship
applications for its annual PTA Scholarship.
Applicants must have attended Forestwood Middle
School, have a current family or student
membership in PTA or PTSA and must enroll in a
two or four-year college or university for the
fall of 2007.
All applications will be number-coded for blind
review.

FMHS Choir to perform
The Flower
Mound High School Choir will perform at
7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 at the First United
Methodist Church in Hurst.
The choir was chosen as a Texas 5A Honor Choir
by the Texas Music Educator's Association and
will perform at the group's annual conference on
Feb. 16.
CECPTA schedules February meeting
All parents of young children are invited to
attend the Carrollton Early Childhood PTA
meeting on Feb. 9 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at
Holy Covenant Church in Carrollton.
February's meeting will feature Paula Tarver of
Early Childhood Intervention who will discuss child
development and the identification of possible
delays in
small children.
Children in the nursery during the meeting will
be treated to a dental health presentation from
a dental hygienist.
